Beauty Pageant

With yet another blow to the individuals. One of the current ruling party in Coalition Government of Nepal, CPN Maoist is learned to ban the 'Annual Beauty Pageant'. This is ridiculous attempt  to curtail individual liberty and freedom.  Today they are trying to ban Beauty pageant, tomorrow they would ban clothing and next day they'd just ban every thing. How funny would it be to imagine a country sandwiched between China and India to be regulated a lot...and isolated from the world economy. Would that make any sense?

This attempt going against the individual freedom has to be stopped! This is direct threat to freedom because Maoist have internal links with Revolutionary Internatinal Movement (RIM) and other terrorist groups responsible to bomb Indian Parliament in 2001.

Militarily or Economically Nepal might not be threat to USA or the West but defintiely it is to India and China, we have to stop it to give our citizens better outlook to the world.

Communists remerging

Nepal has recently experienced a reemergence of communist force.

Traditionally, communism in Nepal is not a new phenomena since 1950s, when world was divided into three flanks- Allies, Soviet Union and the Non Voilence Movement spearheaded by Indian Prime Minister J. Nehru.   Nehru being a traditional socialist had greater impact on Nepali politics

During 1950s most of the current Nepali politicians were educated in India. Obviously this led to socialistic coalition. But more than that most of the current technocrat, bureaucrat and so-called intellectuals received their education in the USSR.   So we have doctors, engineers or other experts who defend 'communism' or 'collectivization'.

India prior to 1990 had 'Hinduvta Growth', meaning 2% growth rate.  And concurrently impacted Nepali economy.  Even if the visionary leaders like King Mahendra tried to compensate it.  Most of the economic planning concept were borrowed from Indian or Soviet planning models.  The reengineering of the economy was attempted by Dr. Prakash C. Lohani in 1985 as a finance minister who liberalized the financial market by opening up to the foreign investors. Ever since then our economy has been under constant deregulation, but alarmingly at slow pace.

Even if the discouraging rate of deregulation was attempted and subsequent accession to the World Trade Organization has opened up the Nepali economy to the world at the astonishing level. Nepal now faces a new challenge 'Communists in Power' . Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) which has ultra root of communism has recently joined the Nepali government and importanly it now controls the Ministry of Information and Communication.  And this party believes on the violence, intimidation, torture and extortion.

They rampantly kill people. Fundamentally they do not believe on private property and individual responsibilty.
